Tolu Ademola
Tolu is a freshman at Penn State University pursuing a Civil Engineering degree this Fall. His diverse background as a British-Nigerian has prepared him for academic success and life in the United States. Through his experiences, he has developed interests in sustainable infrastructure and economic equity, and hopes to further contribute to his community.
Orpa Taveras
Orpa was born in the state of Colorado to a Cuban father and Guatemalan mother. Shaped by her immigrant background she learned the values of hard-work and determination. Through this, Orpa has achieved a 4.0 GPA and an interest in the medical sciences. Orpa is pursuing a degree in Molecular Biology at Western Colorado University.
Webster Humphreys
Webster is an Aviation student from the island of Dominica. He is pursuing his bachelors of science degree from Minnesota State University. Despite many challenges caused by COVID-19, Webster has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.68 and has remained resilient. Through his experiences Webster has also become an advocate for mental health in his community.
Hanifah Ouro-Sama
As the child of Togolese immigrants, Hanifah credits her success to the values of education and hard-work her parents taught her. With that, she achieved straight As and maintained a cumulative 4.0 GPA by the end of high school. She is also a published writer for the Southern DE Alliance for Racial Justice’s Magazine. Hanifah will pursue a degree in Molecular Biology at Yale University this fall.
Monica Ifezue
As the 1st ranked senior at her high school, Monica demonstrated values of hard-work and dedication. Rooted by her Nigerian heritage, she took the lessons from her immigrant experience and contributed back to her student community throughout high school. Monica will pursue a degree in Operations and Technology Management from Boston University in the fall.
